The Broker of Services for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

The Adult Individual Services Option at Monadnock Developmental Services helps adults with disabilities to access supports and services based on an individual's life plan. Our goal is to create rich learning environments for both staff and individuals receiving services by building on the relationship between learning and self-determination. This includes positive behavior change through Gentle Teaching -- a process that recognizes the vital role of bonding and friendship in healthy human growth and development. Our services support each individual's efforts to achieve autonomy, empowerment and self-determination.

Adult Individual Services assists adults with disabilities to:

Build and maintain budgets
Choose and contract with support staff and companions
Access and maintain homes of their choice
Choose day services options out of the home
Explore and engage in recreational and leisure activities
Build community integration through competitive employment, organizational affiliations and thoughtful relationship-building
Access medical and therapeutic support
Explore and engage in educational endeavors

Quality Services are assured through:

Regular, supervised staff and team meetings
One-on-one supervision for direct support professionals and companions
Compliance with state regulations
Medication training to all staff who administer medications
Nurse consultants/trainers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
Adult Individual Services coordinators available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
Oversight of residential state certification
Procedures for 24-hour emergency medical services
On-going training for all staff Evaluation and professional development planning for direct support professionals
Fee-for-service arrangements offering individuals the option to contract for supports on an as-needed basis
