Essential Workshops

Why you need it:
In every field there are specific tools, techniques and methods that have been proven effective and are accepted by people who provide the service as well as those who benefit from that service. In every organization, too, there is a culture that coordinates people's efforts, a philosophy that drives people's work, and procedures that direct people's interactions. The Essential Workshops track provides an avenue for you to investigate the field of Developmental Disabilities as it is practiced in Region V. You'll have a chance to raise questions, dialogue with colleagues, learn about the latest changes in state regulations, and wrestle with the "what ifs" of problematic situations you are liable to encounter.

Who should come:
These workshops are appropriate for staff who are new to the job or to Region V. Since some of the best learning comes from colleagues, staff and family members with more experience are also strongly encouraged to attend. They can contribute their knowledge and experience to the discussion or find renewal and inspiration.
