This day-long leadership training session is for individuals with disabilities, their parents/family members and professionals working in the community to support individuals with disabilities. The session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Legislative Office Building Rooms 206-208, 33 North State Street in Concord. Attendees will gain information on legislative leadership relating to disability issues, and includes lunch and a State House tour.

Professionals in the field, parents, and individuals with disabilities join together to not only provide information, but to share strategies for collaboration and implementation as well. The session will include legislative discussions, audience participation, and small or large group activities. The goal of the training is to support the development of self-advocacy and leadership skills in New Hampshire citizens who wish to affect change at a personal, community, and statewide level through public policy and/or legislation for individuals with disabilities in their communities.

There is no cost to participants. We are particularly eager that members of the group represent diverse backgrounds, ages, and different geographic regions of the state.
